Guest favorites, new introductions and a fresh cocktail lineup highlight the changes
COLUMBUS: Following the long-awaited opening of its new location at Easton Town Center, Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern has introduced a new menu in its central Ohio restaurant locations.
Fresh new appetizers lead off the updated menu, including fresh Mussels sautéed in white wine, shallots and roasted tomatoes, finished with garlic butter and served atop housemade focaccia bread. Another light starter is Hummus updated with grilled pita bread, a marinated tomato and cucumber salad and a side of tzatziki sauce.
Three new Rusty Bucket salads provide a variety of fresh options and flavors for guests. With a hint of Asian cuisine, the Thai Steak Salad features teriyaki-marinated grilled skirt steak over crisp greens, joined by udon noodles, mixed Asian vegetables, pineapple and grilled bok choy, and all tossed in a soy ginger vinaigrette and topped with candied peanuts and cilantro. An all-new Caesar Salad, available topped with grilled chicken or salmon, is made with crisp romaine lettuce, crispy kale and housemade sourdough croutons, and tossed in a creamy parmesan dressing. Sure to be a guest favorite is the Wedge of Iceberg, crowned with tomato, bacon, chopped egg and a choice of dressing.
Rusty Bucket, known for its delicious, hand-pattied burgers, has introduced an exceptional burger for bacon lovers - the Double Bacon Cheddar. This burger, made with both ground bacon and beef, is topped with caramelized onion, cheddar cheese and even more bacon. The burger is topped with lettuce, tomato and roasted garlic aioli.
The highly popular Backyard BBQ Ribs moves from the Blue Plate Specials list to become a mainstay on the entrée menu. Available in both a half and full rack, the lightly smoked Memphis-style ribs are slathered with Rusty Bucket’s signature barbecue sauce and served with French fries and cole slaw.
On the Rusty Bucket’s famous Blue Plate Specials list are a guest favorite and two new features. On Mondays, Gary’s Three-Way makes its debut as a Blue Plate Special. Spaghetti is smothered with the Rusty Bucket’s Texas sirloin chili and topped with cheddar cheese, sour cream, fresh tomatoes and onion – all served with garlic cheese bread. The Tuesday Blue Plate is Pasta Bolognese – pappardelle pasta covered with Rusty Bucket
Founder Gary Callicoat’s family Bolognese sauce with fresh herbed whipped ricotta cheese and served with garlic cheese bread. On Saturday, the Blue Plate Special is Shrimp Scampi, with shrimp sautéed with white wine garlic butter sauce, fresh herbs and tomatoes tossed with spaghetti and grated parmesan and served with garlic cheese bread.
“These are exciting times for Rusty Bucket – we’re growing and meeting new guests each day – and we are thrilled to have a menu that reflects that excitement,” said Callicoat. “We are staying true to our roots with guest favorites, while bringing in new items and fresh cocktails that are certain to please longtime guests and those visiting for the first time.”
In addition, the Rusty Bucket’s Daily Drink Specials have been updated, starting with Mule Mondays – a refreshing mix of Smirnoff Vodka, fresh ginger and lime, mixed with ginger beer. Daiquiri Tuesdays introduce both the traditional Hemingway Daiquiri and the fresh strawberry daiquiri. For Whiskey Wednesdays, Bulleit Bourbon has been added to the list of whiskey favorites. Throwback Thursdays feature three classics – the Luxardo Old Fashioned, the Pink Gin Fizz and the Pecan Manhattan. The popular Martini Night continues on Fridays, and for Saturday’s “Gary’s Famous” Margaritas night, a grapefruit and elderflower margarita has been added. Closing out the cocktail list is “Bloody Sundays” Bloody Mary, amped up with an expanded selection of pepper-infused vodkas that range in flavor from “not spicy” to “stupid spicy”, topped with a house-spiced pickle and garnish.
